Dental Implant Cost Singapore: Medisave-Eligible Options

What You Actually Want to Know Before Booking
Dental implant cost in Singapore is one of those topics where most clinics make you call before they tell you anything. That is frustrating when you're just trying to work out whether it fits your budget — and whether your Medisave can help. This guide lays out the real numbers and explains exactly how Medisave-eligible implant packages work at Smile Central Clinic.
We have eight clinics across the heartlands — Aljunied, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang Mall, Marine Terrace, Tanjong Pagar, Toa Payoh, Upper Serangoon, and Yishun — and we accept CHAS, Pioneer Generation, and Merdeka Generation subsidies. Evening and weekend appointments are available at most branches, so you do not necessarily have to take time off work.
Dental Implant Prices at Smile Central Clinic (2026)
The price you see includes the implant fixture itself plus a porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crown — the visible tooth on top. There are no hidden components bundled separately.
| Implant System | Package Price | GST | Medisave Claimable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Neodent | $1,950 | Already included | Full amount (eligible cases) |
| Osstem | $2,200 | Excludes GST | Up to $1,950 |
| Straumann | $2,900 | Excludes GST | Up to $1,950 |
A few things worth noting about this table:
- The Neodent package at $1,950 already includes GST. There is nothing added on top. For eligible cases, the entire $1,950 is payable using Medisave — meaning no cash outlay at all.
- For Osstem and Straumann, $1,950 of the package price is payable using Medisave. The balance is an out-of-pocket cost, and GST applies on top of the stated price.
- If you are considering Straumann or Osstem and want to understand the total after GST, ask the clinic to quote you before committing. We do not add surprises at the billing stage.
How Medisave Works for Dental Implants in Singapore
Medisave can be used for dental implant surgery in Singapore, but the rules are more specific than most people realise. Here is what matters in practice.
What Medisave covers: The surgical placement of the implant fixture into the jawbone is a surgical procedure and is Medisave-claimable. For the Neodent package at Smile Central Clinic, eligible patients can use Medisave to pay the full $1,950 — including the crown — with no separate cash payment required for that component.
What "eligible cases" means: Medisave eligibility is assessed case by case. Your dentist will confirm whether your situation qualifies during the consultation. Factors such as your Medisave balance, the number of implants, and clinical suitability all play a role. We cannot guarantee eligibility in advance of an assessment — but for cases that do qualify under the Neodent package, the full amount can be drawn.
The paperwork: Medisave claims involve forms and submission through MOH-approved channels. At Smile Central Clinic, the team handles that paperwork on your behalf. You don't need to navigate the CPF Board portal yourself.
What about Osstem and Straumann? For these systems, up to $1,950 is payable using Medisave. So if you choose the Osstem package at $2,200 (before GST), you would cover up to $1,950 via Medisave and pay the remainder — plus applicable GST — in cash or by other means.
Which Implant System Should You Choose?
All three systems we offer are clinically established implant brands used widely across Singapore and internationally. The differences are not primarily about quality — they are about design characteristics and price point.
- Neodent is a Swiss-developed system, part of the Straumann Group, and sits at the entry point of the range. At $1,950 GST-inclusive and fully Medisave-payable for eligible cases, it is a practical choice for patients who want a reliable implant without the gap payment.
- Osstem is a South Korean system with a long clinical track record across Asia. At $2,200 before GST, it sits in the mid-range.
- Straumann is a premium Swiss system and the most widely referenced brand in implant dentistry. At $2,900 before GST, it carries a higher out-of-pocket component after Medisave.
Your dentist will discuss which system suits your jaw bone condition, bite, and overall treatment plan. If you have a preference, mention it at the consultation.
What the Implant Process Looks Like
Knowing the steps helps you plan — especially if you are wondering how many visits are involved and whether any of them are uncomfortable.
- Consultation and assessment — X-rays and a clinical exam to check bone volume and overall oral health. Cost: $21–$31, excluding GST.
- Treatment planning — Your dentist discusses the implant system, timeline, and total costs before anything happens.
- Implant placement surgery — The titanium fixture is placed into the jawbone under local anaesthesia. Most patients describe pressure rather than pain during the procedure. There is typically some soreness and swelling in the days after, managed with standard pain relief.
- Healing period — The implant integrates with the bone over a period of months. Your dentist will monitor this at scheduled check-ins.
- Crown fitting — Once integration is confirmed, the PFM crown is attached. This appointment is generally straightforward.
The full process typically spans several months. There is no shortcut that is clinically sound, but the active appointment time across all visits is not as long as people expect.
Will It Be Painful?
This is one of the most common questions, and it deserves an honest answer rather than a reassuring gloss.
The surgery is done under local anaesthesia — the area is numb during the procedure. You may feel pressure and vibration; sharp pain during the surgery itself is unusual. After the anaesthesia wears off, some soreness, swelling, and jaw stiffness are normal for a few days. Most people manage this with over-the-counter pain relief, though your dentist will advise on what is appropriate for your case.
If you are particularly anxious about the procedure, tell your dentist at the consultation. There are ways to make the experience more manageable.
CHAS, Pioneer Generation, and Merdeka Generation Cards
Dental implants are not a CHAS-subsidised treatment under the current framework — CHAS covers basic dental procedures rather than surgical implants. If you hold a Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation card, check with the clinic about which treatments your card applies to.
For any treatment where CHAS or government subsidies do apply — such as scaling and polishing, fillings, and extractions — Smile Central Clinic accepts these cards at all eight branches. The team will scan your card and process the subsidy directly; you do not need to claim separately.
Practical Details Before You Visit
- Branches near you: Aljunied, Ang Mo Kio, Hougang Mall, Marine Terrace, Tanjong Pagar, Toa Payoh, Upper Serangoon, Yishun. Check the branch page on smilecentral.sg for the specific hours of the clinic closest to you.
- Evening and weekend slots: Available at most branches — useful if your weekdays are full.
- What to bring: Your NRIC, any relevant CHAS or Pioneer/Merdeka Generation card, and a list of medications if you are on any. Your dentist needs to know about blood thinners or other drugs that affect surgery.
- Consultation first: An implant always starts with an assessment. The consultation fee is $21–$31 (excluding GST), and you leave with a clear treatment plan and cost breakdown — no obligation to proceed on the same day.
Ready to Find Out If Implants Are Right for You?
The clearest next step is a consultation at whichever Smile Central Clinic branch works for you. The dentist will assess your bone condition, walk you through the right implant option, confirm your Medisave eligibility, and give you a written cost breakdown before anything is scheduled.
You can WhatsApp the clinic to ask a question or book an appointment, or simply walk into the nearest branch. There is no pressure to decide on the spot — understanding your options fully is the point of the first visit.
